Introduction of ANZIIF
About ANZIIF
ANZIIF is the oldest Insurance Association in the world and was established more than 130 years ago. As the leading membership and education organisation for insurance and finance in the Asia Pacific region. We have over 17,000 members in 50 countries and about 20% of these are in Asia. Our vision is to be the platform for insurance and finance professionalism.
We strive to do this by developing and maintaining professional standards and providing world-class education and training, providing our members with access to events and technical seminars and professional networks, through thought leadership, and by promoting the industry at a community level.
Many of ANZIIF’s accredited course materials are bilingual – compiled in both English and Chinese. This enables Chinese students of ANZIIF to study our courses in their mother tongue while improving their English skills. Our examinations can also be taken in Chinese.
ANZIIF qualifications are recognised and quality-assured by the Australian Government. They are also acknowledged by global insurance companies and regulators as benchmarks and prerequisites for professional competence in both employment and career development throughout the industry. These courses are recognised by some universities as part of their admission requirements for postgraduate degrees (MBA and other Master’s degree programs).
As a Member association, our role is to lead and engage our industry through education and the promotion of professional standards, which enables our members to achieve their career and corporate aspirations. To be a professional Member of ANZIIF signifies three things:
1.Certification of knowledge, skills and competency to a body of knowledge representing the professional standards
2.A commitment to lifelong learning, and
3.A commitment to ethical practices.
To support this, ANZIIF offers innovative award-winning skills based education that supports the core technical competencies required across insurance, as well as providing access to a wide range of relevant materials in our Members’ Centre – our online learning library, hosting more than 2000 articles, professional development activities, white papers and videos. ANZIIF also hosts and facilitates leading technical seminars and workshops across the Asia Pacific region. Members also receive the Journal – the longest-running and most widely-read insurance publication in the Asia-Pacific region. The Journal helps to keeps members up-to-date on industry issues, trends, people and events.
ANZIIF’s Presence in China
Since 2002, ANZIIF has established robust partnerships with large insurers, universities and insurance institutes and associations across many cities across greater China.
ANZIIF’s staff and trainers have set up long-term professional partnerships and personal ties with many senior executives and managers, learned academics and management officials from insurance associations and institutes throughout the region. This has been enabled through many regular visits to China, offshore training programs, and the onshore hosting of over 50 insurance company delegations from China in Australia.
In 2012, ANZIIF founded its Shanghai office, which is testament to the organisation’s determination to help Chinese market in the long-term. The Shanghai office also lends operational support to ANZIIF’s existing office in Hong Kong, which already delivers services to thousands of members around the Pearl River Delta region. With these offices in place, ANZIIF is well-equipped to provide more efficient and convenient services to our customers and partners in Greater China.
